We sat down with Kyle Hughes, NJ FMBA Northern District Vice President, and Paterson Local 2 President, to discuss his personal experiences with substance abuse and mental health. PTSD and Mental health awareness is a topic that needs no introduction to firefighters around the country. We are hopeful that Kyle's story will help someone that is dealing with a mental health crisis or substance abuse. Communication and the ability to recognize the problem and ask for help is key to getting back on the right track and living a healthy life.
